Here's the log from a test on a machine that still has 7.70.80.34 installed: = Logging started: 9:54:45 =Īction ended 9:54:45: PreventDowngrade. It still seems to be sending "preventDowngrade" to the installer. From the log files, it's almost as if it's not paying attention to the fact that I'm transforming it at all. The furthest I got was to get almost all the way through the install, only to have it pop up that error at the very last moment in the install and quit. I also tried creating a seperate transform file and referencing it using TRANSFORMS=quicktime.mst (and calling the original quicktime install).but same issue. Someone recommended using the /passive flag for MSI install, but that didn't work. That deleted the registry values, but I'm STILL getting the same error. Reg delete HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\0C7EC0FA4E3A37D489B82B1978CEE6A9 /f Reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\0C7EC0FA4E3A37D489B82B1978CEE6A9 /f So I made the following batch file and ran it: reg delete HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\20441E9C136328143B77B6D0BFC13093 /f ![]() That uninstalled the old version of quicktime.Īfter a bit more searching, some people recommended removing quicktime from the registry. ("Select * from Win32_Product Where Name like '%QuickTime%'") Set colSoftware = objWMIService.ExecQuery _ Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:" _ Made the following script and ran it, removing quicktime: strComputer = "." Ok, so I thought I'd try running a script to remove quicktime first. Tried on a test machine - got the same error. I set "PreventDowngrade to 0 in InstallExecutiveSequence.Using Orca, I created a new MSI and removed the NOT BNEWERPRODUCTISINSTALLED line in Launch Conditions.I've tried almost everything I've found on the internet to no avail. I'm getting the often-seen "A newer version of quicktime is already installed" error message. I'm trying to deploy quicktime 7.7.3 via SCCM to around 100 computers that have 7.70.80.34 installed on them. especially see that sony fixed their issues way before it was an issue and corel refuses to even recognize their is a problem.First off, thanks for any help you can provide. but I can't put up with this much longer. It has become a staple to making same day images for our company (pro wedding photography / video). seems ridiculous that corel isn't listening or just doesn't care. Sony fixed the exact same glitch with their software within a day of finding out the issue a week before iphone 5's had even been released. MOV files work fine in all other programs, they just don't work in x4 or x5. With an iphone 5 you can't revert back to an older quicktime. MOV files and converting every file before importing doesn't make sense. You can import other types of files such as MP4 but most serious DSLR's record. in fact I am pretty sure if you have an iphone 5 your corel will no longer work with. ![]() I have done alot of research and there are tons of Corel users that are having theses issues, it isn't just a few. Since I got an iphone 5 and updated my itunes and quicktime my corel is basically useless. ![]()
